Fall is my absolute favorite season! This year fall started on September 22nd and will end on December 20th. There are so many fun things that happen during the fall season-- apple and pumpkin picking, hay rides, return to school, Halloween, Columbus Day, raking leaves, hiking, building scarecrows, leaves changing color, etc. For this assignment I'd like you to share your feelings about fall~~ what you like about fall. There will be two parts to this assignment so read them carefully before starting.

Part 1
Each student will be sharing SIX one or two word phrases that remind you of what you like about fall. To do this you will:
1. Head back to your group page
2. Find the Fall Word Chart at the bottom of the page
3. Find your name in the chart and add your six words/phrases to each individual cell. Please be careful NOT to erase anyone else's entries. You will use the Edit feature on the top of the page, place your cursor in each cell and type your word(s).
4. Check for spelling before clicking on the Save button!

THIS PART WILL BE DUE BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2010
Part 2
1. You will take a minimum of 4 words/phrases that your partner has written in the chart and write a fall story using the Discussion feature on your group page. Be creative and use your reasoning skills to incorporate the words into a story that you think would describe what your partner likes about fall! Please remember to write using complete sentences, be creative, check for correct spelling and punctuation and most importantly REMEMBER TO INCORPORATE A MINIMUM OF FOUR WORDS/PHRASES THAT YOUR PARTNER USED TO DESCRIBE WHAT HE/SHE LIKES ABOUT FALL.
If you have two partners please pick two words/phrases from each of your partners to write your story.

THIS PART WILL BE DUE BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2010

EXAMPLE:
Below is an example of both possible words/phrases AND a story written using four of the words/phrases.
Partner words:
Halloween, acorns falling, leaves crunching, cool weather, apple picking, apple pie

Partner Story:
I love the fall for many reasons, but especially because of Halloween. I like to hear the leaves crunching under my feet on Halloween night as I walk down the dark, spooky streets collecting all of my delicious candy. With each step I dodge the acorns falling from the mighty oak and hope that my mom's apple pie will be ready to taste when I get home! Oh, so many wonderful things to like about fall!
